Jeffree Star joked denied being behind Tom Brady’s retirement, which the NFL champ announced only days after the beauty expert intimated that he’s dating a pro football player.
“This is not my fault… Repeat: This is not my fault,” Star captioned the retweet of Winston’s video on Twitter on Wednesday.
“I’ve never met Tom, but congratulations on retirement! Wyoming is an ideal retirement location.”
Fans laughed along with the YouTuber, who is openly homosexual, for tying the huge sports news to him, with one saying in the thread, “yeah that was weird timing after the speculation on your NFL guy. So amusing!” and another tweeting “What a fascinating coincidence!”
Last Friday, Star, 37, uploaded a selfie of himself holding hands with a mystery man on a private plane and captioned it, “Goodbye LA, time to spend time with my #NFL boo in Wyoming .”
Monday, the owner of Jeffree Star Cosmetics posted a mirror selfie with a tall man in an orange and brown coat whose back was towards the camera and wrote, “His team didn’t make the Super Bowl, but he’s 6’6 and plays great in the bedroom.”
People soon began to speculate about the identity of the mystery NFL player, prompting the wife of a professional athlete to demand that Star divulge the man’s identify so that people would stop assuming he was her husband.
Saryn Anderson, the wife of Carolina Panthers defensive end Henry Anderson, allegedly told Star via DM, “I’m getting harassed because my husband is in the NFL and ppl think it’s him. Please stop.”
Star first unveiled his “NFL boo” earlier this week in a photo of them holding hands.
Star clapped back on Twitter, “OMG now the #NFL wives are coming after me!!! Do not be so insecure, girl. I don’t meddle with married men,” but did not reveal the identity of his new partner.
Then, two days after the viral exchange, Brady, 45, recorded himself on a beach and stated, “I’ll get to the point right away: I’m retiring for good.”
According to online statistics, Gisele Bündchen’s ex-husband is 6-foot-4, not 6-foot-6 like the mystery man, despite the fact that he did not make it to the Super Bowl this year, as stated by Star’s teaser tweet.
This is not the first time Star has been linked to a male celebrity who has lately returned to the dating scene.
