James Eric Crisp, 37, admitted to authorities how he murdered a guy in Mississippi.

He admits to engaging Roger Lord Taylor, 48, in a physical altercation.

Taylor, the father of two kids, was reported missing in 2019.

On the night Taylor went missing, he and his wife had a fight, and he drove from Alabama to Mississippi in an attempt to find her, but he got lost.

Crisp was caught and imprisoned in 2019 for his participation in a narcotics network.

After his discharge, he entered God’s House of Hope rehabilitation program.

After eight months of rehabilitation, he joined the ministry team and chose to confess to the murder.

Crisp has been charged with manslaughter and is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bail.

A Mississippi preacher made his own dramatic confession when he came into his local sheriff’s office and admitted to killing and dumping a guy three years earlier.

James Eric Crisp, a 37-year-old father of two, had an epiphany and chose to come clean to detectives with the Monroe County Sheriff after being arrested for narcotics trafficking in 2019.

But before he went to prison, Crisp did something that has haunted him ever since: he murdered another man.

His drug addiction caused him to engage in a fatal altercation with Roger Lord Taylor, aged 48. The remains of Taylor have never been located.

This week, Crisp unburdened himself of a burden that had been hanging on his mind by going to the police to reveal the truth.

Sheriff Kevin Crook wrote with a tone of skepticism, “James Eric Crisp strolled into my office on his own will and admitted to having murdered Mr. Taylor.”

Taylor was classified as missing when his abandoned vehicle was recovered.

In the years after his release, Crisp enrolled in a Christian drug treatment program and worked toward sobriety, later becoming a pastor, teacher, and counselor for the program that saved his life.

Crisp had a life-altering experience when he was in the rehabilitation facility.

Sheriff Crook said, “Three years ago, based on his own testimony, he was rescued, we sent him to a rehabilitation facility, and he is now a teacher and preacher in that program.”

Sheriff: “He chose to jeopardize his physical freedom in order to regain his spiritual freedom and, hopefully, bring closure to this issue for himself and the Taylor family.”

The sheriff’s office responded, “We are delighted for Mr. Crisp to have gotten this off his chest so that he may continue his ministry wherever the Lord has planned for him, but this does not end the case for us.”

Crisp has been charged with manslaughter and is being held on a $150,000 bail.

Crisp is the father of two children with whom he pledged to resume his ties upon his 2019 release from jail.

‘MCSO investigators will evaluate this new evidence to decide whether further charges or suspects are warranted.’

Crisp was incarcerated in 2019 after Monroe County Sheriff’s officers confiscated more than 200 grams of methamphetamine, hundreds of dollars in cash, ecstasy pills, marijuana, a rifle and a pistol, and drug paraphernalia. Crisp was a member of a drug ring.

The drug network was one of the biggest in the region at the time.

Crisp was charged with trafficking in controlled narcotics and possession with the intent to sell a controlled substance.

Crisp attended a drug rehabilitation facility called God’s House of Hope upon his release from prison, where he immediately started assisting others.

We will not be altering our photo, ma’am! We are very grateful for this man’s revelation that God is involved in this narrative! stated the organization.

Crisp has been charged with manslaughter and is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bail.

He is currently assisting the police with their investigations, including the hunt for Taylor’s remains, whose family had been concerned about his whereabouts.

During Crisp’s bail hearing, many members of the God’s House of Hope outreach team testified in his support.

Amy Coyle, of God’s House of Hope, stated, “We know God is a just God and He forgives, but we also have to take action for our duties. Today, we pray for God’s compassion and for whatever actions we need to do for Eric to walk through this.”

Even Sheriff Cook shown compassion.

‘As a Christian, I feel terrible for the man; in the physical world, he must face with the consequences of his decisions, but on the spiritual level, I am thrilled for the freedom he has discovered in doing this. You also hope that the family may find healing via this process.

On the night Taylor went missing, he and his wife had a fight, and he drove from Alabama to Mississippi in an attempt to find her, but he got lost.

Taylor, the missing man Crisp confessed to murdering, resided in Alabama and was on his way to Mississippi to see his daughter, Alyssa.

She informed detectives that he had contacted her in 2019 to inform her that his automobile was stranded.

She told WCBI at the time, “It’s been terrible not knowing where he is, whether he’s okay, if he’s dead or living, or whatever happened to him.”

It has been dreadful.

On the night that Taylor disappeared, he and his wife were bickering.

Tiffany Taylor, Taylor’s second-oldest kid, drove his wife from their house in Lamar County, Alabama, to her home in Monroe County, Mississippi, after the altercation.

Taylor left his home in Alabama to pursue them shortly afterwards.

Alyssa stated, “My understanding is that my father went to pick up Kitty, his wife, but he got lost.”

Taylor then contacted his daughter to let her know he was stranded after crossing state borders. He was never again heard from.

A few days later, his vehicle was discovered near to his daughter’s residence.

Alyssa said, “It was believed that he was attempting to go to Tiffany’s residence in order to get his wife.” There were a few tracks surrounding the truck, but it seems they have disappeared. They are believed to be my dads, but there is no way to confirm this.

Investigators then spent almost a week investigating the area where Taylor’s vehicle was discovered, but could find no sign of him.

Alyssa said, “To be able to wrap my arms around my father’s neck again and tell him I love him, or to be able to put my father to rest and have a place to visit him, would offer me tremendous closure and great peace because this uncertainty is dreadful.” I would never wish this onto anybody.
