Jalen Brunson sat out for the second straight game on Sunday as the Knicks won 112-108 against the Lakers in Los Angeles.

He had left Thursday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings at halftime, the opener of the team’s four-game road trip, due to a bruised left foot.

Brunson remains day-to-day, and Coach Tom Thibodeau stated that he was wearing a walking boot on the bench on Sunday night.

ESPN reported during the broadcast that he is “unlikely” to play in Tuesday’s road trip finale in Portland.

Thibodeau emphasized that it is not just Jalen who has a say in whether he plays, as the medical team must also clear him.

If Brunson gets cleared and feels good, he will play, but if he needs more time, he will get it, and it’s not just Jalen, it’s all of the team’s players.

Meanwhile, Immanuel Quickley had a strong bounce-back game on Saturday against the Clippers, scoring a team-best 26 points and adding 10 rebounds while starting in place of Brunson.

Quickley had missed 21 of 27 shot attempts, including 14 of 18 from 3-point range, in the previous two games after scoring 38 points in a career-high 55 minutes last Sunday in a double-overtime win in Boston.

However, he did not see his performance as a bounce-back game, stating that nothing had changed, and that sometimes you make shots, and sometimes you miss shots.

LeBron James missed his seventh straight game since suffering a tendon injury in his right foot on Feb. 26. However, Anthony Davis (foot) was available for the Lakers. The 38-year-old James is expected to be reevaluated in about two weeks, according to the team.

Finally, the Knicks waived center Moses Brown and signed second-round pick Trevor Keels to a two-way contract.
