Ivana Trump’s burial was attended by Melania Trump, despite rumours that she would skip her husband’s ex-memorial wife’s service.
Ivana and Melania, both 52, had a long-running, not-so-quiet dispute before Ivana’s death at 73.
Ivana famously proclaimed that because she was the first wife of the then-president Trump, she was the true first lady of the United States.
In an interview with Good Morning America in October 2017, Ivana stated, “I’m the first lady, OK?,” adding, “Melania is there and I don’t want to provoke any type of jealously or anything like that because I’m the first Trump wife.”
Ivana was promoting her memoir, “Raising Trump,” when she made the remarks on the morning show.
Additionally, she claimed to have a tight relationship with her ex-husband, which reportedly included a direct line to the White House that she avoided using out of respect for Donald and Melania.
Melania was enraged by her remark, and she promptly released a statement through a spokesperson in which she referred to Ivana as a “attention seeker.”
“Mrs. Trump has transformed the White House into a home for the president and Barron.”
She enjoys being the First Lady of the United States and likes living in Washington, D.C.
Instead of promoting books, she wants to use her position and prestige to assist kids.
“This remark from an ex has obviously no basis.” Unfortunately, nothing but self-centered noise,” the statement said.
Ivana, the mother of three of Trump’s children, died on Thursday at her Upper East Side residence in New York City following a heart arrest.
When the Trumps returned to New York City for Ivana’s funeral, Melania was conspicuously absent from the family pictures, sparking rumours that she skipped the engagement because of past arguments between the Trump women.
In addition to putting her husband’s ex-rumors wife’s to rest, Melania was finally seen attending the funeral on Wednesday.
