Isreal Adesanya receives congratulations from Youth and Sports Development Minister Sunday Dare for yet another successful title defence

Isreal Adesanya, a UFC champion who was born in Nigeria, has received congratulations from Youth and Sports Development Minister Sunday Dare for yet another successful title defence.

Adesanya defeated Jared Cannonier early on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada, earning a unanimous decision victory to keep his UFC Middleweight title.

Adesanya was praised by Dare for serving as a deserving young ambassador for her nation in a statement.

The Minister stated that Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman, two other UFC champions who have continued to represent Nigeria each time they compete, are deserving of praise for their accomplishments.

We will continue to celebrate Adesanya and Usman because they always identify as Nigerians and proudly fly the Nigerian flag wherever they go. They are our universal heroes. We think they have a lot more success in front of them,” Dare said.
