Unless Vladimir Putin can achieve some success in his ongoing “disastrous” war against Ukraine, which has been raging for a year, he may face a coup, according to experts.
Putin is also reportedly becoming increasingly isolated from countries surrounding Russia that he would like to incorporate into a new Soviet state.
There is speculation that some of his long-time allies in Moscow, including “General Armageddon” Sergey Surovkin and Wagner group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, could be plotting to oust him.
In addition, there is building internal pressure on Putin, and there are reports of domestic unrest due to his handling of the war.
Even Kazakhstan, once seen as Russia’s closest ally after Belarus, has taken a stance against Putin’s actions, and all other post-Soviet states, including Belarus, refuse to recognise Putin’s annexation of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, and the breakaway territories of Georgia.
