Animal rescuers are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying whoever tied a severely injured dog to a tree and left graffiti-like pen marks on his body.
The huge male Mastiff was discovered in Tovey Park in the south Brisbane suburb of Boronia Heights, tied with a short rope but still alive.
The sad, emaciated dog had ‘puncture wounds’ on his neck and purple marker pen drawings on his back.

The mastiff was recovered by an RSCPA inspector after surviving.
The Queensland RSPCA made an urgent request for information on the injured animal.
Emma Lagoon, a spokesperson for RSPCA Queensland, said, “Anyone with information on this dog or who may have seen someone in the area with the dog is advised to contact the RSPCA’s 24/7 emergency hotline.”
It is completely unacceptable to tie up a wounded dog to a tree. Regarding the markings, it is simply rude.
As you might imagine, this poor puppy is pretty frightened and is currently receiving the attention he needs to hopefully survive his ordeal and recover entirely.
The RSPCA also asked pet owners to reach out for assistance if they felt unable to care for their animals.

On the RSCPA’s social media platforms, followers were outraged by the dog’s treatment.

The dog was discovered by a member of the public in the bushes opposite Tinchi Tamba Boat Ramp.
