On Thursday’s episode of the “Boy Meets World” podcast “Pod Meets World,” Rider Strong recalls receiving unsettling notes while working on the iconic TGIF series.

At approximately the 14-minute mark of the podcast, while discussing strange fan interactions, Strong told his cohosts and former costars Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle that he received “a series of letters where this guy was describing people’s daily lives” in the hopes that Strong would use the information about where the people lived and worked to murder them.

Strong, who portrayed troubled youngster Shawn Hunter in all seven seasons of the show, continued, “This guy basically asked me to become a hitman for him.” “And was listing people’s daily schedules so that I could murder them.”

Strong clarified that he never read the letters, which were probably given to him in the 1990s, during the height of “Boy Meets World’s” fame.

The letters were “intercepted” by Disney employees, according to the former actor. Strong claimed that eventually, producers on the show and Disney officials collected the letters and had a “huge discussion” about the next measures to take.

When he learned about the letters years later from a producer, Strong questioned why he was singled out among the entire ensemble.

Strong added with an awkward chuckle, “I believe the writers at the time believed that Shawn Hunter’s status as a damaged outsider caused this character to believe that he would be the one to carry out these killings for him.”

Strong was not the only “Boy Meets World” cast member to experience a frightening fan interaction while appearing on the show. On Thursday’s Q&A show, he was asked about the letters because Fishel was concluding a tale she had recounted in an earlier podcast episode about a stalker visiting her school.

She told her audience that she was working on the day the man arrived, so adults at her school suspected something was amiss because a close adult would be aware of her job and school schedule. They notified her parents, who were able to pursue legal action.

Each week, new episodes of “Pod Meets World” are released.
