In “I Came By,” Hugh Bonneville cherished acting in a “slightly different” way.

Hugh, 58, is best known for his role as the Earl of Grantham in “Downton Abbey,” but he enjoyed the challenge of being the lead in this new Netflix movie about a teenage graffiti artist who learns a horrifying truth.

According to Bonneville, HeyUGuys “Playing a character that is obviously a part of the establishment strikes me as being pretty fascinating. But there’s really more—so to speak—behind the eyes.

“It’s a little eye-opener about the individuals at the top of society and what they can get away with, in my opinion, without being overbearing. So to speak, they can get away with murder.

Since viewers are used to seeing me in either a large home with a Labrador or a little house with a bear, it was enjoyable to play a role that was a little unusual.

In the meanwhile, Bonneville, who appeared in “Downton Abbey: A New Era” earlier this year, acknowledged that the film was the perfect opportunity to wrap out the series.

The seasoned performer said: “Practically speaking, I believe it has served its purpose. I believe that was a wise decision to make. I’m not sure.

“I won’t ever second-guess the future, but after giving it some thought, I realized that it’s probably a good idea after all. But I do believe it may get a little stale. The second movie, in my opinion, was such a happy one and a fitting way to wrap up the narrative. And it does seem to be coming to an end.

“There are still open doors there, but I believe this would be a good moment to quit.”
