In its warning, the Met stated: ‘Rain, sleet, and snow are anticipated to subside on Sunday, leaving surfaces wet. Coupled with an upcoming cold night, this is likely to result in widespread icy stretches forming on untreated surfaces across Scotland.

After a rainy and cold weekend, a yellow warning for slippery conditions has been issued for Scotland today.

The evening will be cloudy, particularly in the western regions of England, Scotland, and Wales, according to forecasters.

A belt of precipitation will reach Northern Ireland, Wales, western England, and Scotland in the early hours of the morning.
