Ian Hamilton throws eight pitches during training

On Monday, during the Yankees’ spring training, Ian Hamilton, a 27-year-old right-handed pitcher, showed his dominance by throwing eight pitches, all strikes, during a perfect sixth inning.

He struck out two Detroit hitters, who swung at six pitches and whiffed four times. Hamilton is fighting for a role in Yankees camp.

Playing third base, Oswaldo Cabrera was charged with an error when he let a bouncing ball from Spencer Torkelson get by him on a tough hop. However, the super utilityman made a great recovery and robbed Eric Haase of extra bases with a diving catch to his right.

Tayler Aguilar, a 22-year-old up from minor league camp, was impressed with a strong right-field throw that nailed Detroit’s Colt Keith at the plate.

On Tuesday, Gleyber Torres, Jose Trevino, and Oswald Peraza will be among the Yankees going to Orlando for a game against the Rays at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports.
