Lauren Pacheco never intended to become an influencer in the golf industry.
With over 146,000 Instagram followers, the 32-year-old has become a prominent figure among golf’s social media influencers. Since she suddenly rocketed to Instagram notoriety during the COVID-19 pandemic, she has established a fortune as a full-time content maker through business partnerships.
Yet, this is not where her career began.
At the age of 18, the native of Salinas, California traveled to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Pacheco attended community college while participating in several auditions and performing a range of on-screen jobs. Pacheco’s career was proceeding according to plan until a mysterious sickness altered its course.
Pacheco told The Post, “I wanted to act, so I moved to L.A., but I was really sick the entire time.” “It was extremely difficult for me to attend auditions, leave the house, and do things like hang out with my friends. I was confined to my flat frequently. I visited numerous doctors in an attempt to determine what was wrong with me. I had gastrointestinal difficulties and an autoimmune disorder. There was simply an accumulation of items.”
Pacheco sought a diagnosis from a variety of medical professionals, but was unable in determining the cause of her health problems.
Pacheco stated, “When I went to doctors, they told me to take this pill and that pill.” “I didn’t want to continue taking medication; I wanted to know what was wrong with me.
Hence, I took matters into my own hands and began investigating nutrition. I would spend hours every day on my computer and reading books… I needed to take charge of the issue.
“Studying and reading led me to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I received certification as a health coach; I then healed myself through diet and supplements.”
Pacheco held several positions, including health coach and media host, and earned a bachelor’s degree in health and wellness.
Pacheco stated, “Then the pandemic struck, and it was just golf.”
Pacheco lost her work at the onset of the pandemic and turned to Instagram to continue pursuing her ambitions in the entertainment industry. She began posting honest videos of her and her girlfriends playing golf for fun, and she never looked back.
Pacheco stated, “Before the pandemic, I was media hosting, but for other companies.” “I was posting videos and just taking control of my Instagram and sort of just entertaining on my own” “So, it was kind of cool to take over and do it myself… I believe [my following grew the most] when I began meeting more girls in the golf community and we would meet up and collaborate and have a golf day together — or when a brand would reach out and say, “I want to pay for your girls’ round, here’s the clothing, make your content, and post it on social media.”
Pacheco initially posted videos to an Instagram account dubbed “The Ladies Who Golf,” but she later absorbed the brand under her own Instagram profile.
Once her videos gained momentum, Pacheco’s number of followers increased rapidly from 10,000 to 20,000. The sports, lifestyle, and entertainment industries began reaching out to her to collaborate on golf-themed videos and other social media material.
Pacheco was invited to the Oakley Tournament at the Waste Management Open, the debut of X-Golf in Chicago, CSE and Maxim’s Celebrity Golf Classic in Long Island, and the release of the EA Sports PGA Tour video game in 2022. She was also a guest on the YouTube show “The Celebrity Golf Show.”
She is attempting to take her game to the next level, including a series in which she failed to break 90.
Pacheco stated, “I believe it’s essential for me to remain true to myself throughout this entire process.” “Like, I never wanted people to believe that I was superior to I actually was. So, the Breaking 90 series was pretty fantastic for me because my Instagram followers now know exactly what level I’m at and what I’m all about. As if I only wish to entertain and amuse my followers.”
In December, Pacheco and Omega Accounting Solutions announced their most recent agreement. She attended the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl Game with Omega Accounting on December 30. The parties are collaborating on social material to promote the company’s mission to support small companies.
Pacheco was unable to identify a specific position that launched her into this new career.
“It exploded once more, and I quickly gained more fans… I believe it was publishing a large number of reels and small movies, and I began posting a reel every day for several months,” Pacheco explained. It was insane.Pacheco was up surrounded by golf, as both her father and brother are avid golfers. During the outset of the pandemic, she and her pals began classes.
Developing her presence and establishing ties with sponsors presented Pacheco with numerous obstacles. Before amassing tens of thousands of Instagram followers, she spent countless hours contacting firms she wished to collaborate with. It required time, patience, and “most importantly” consistency for her to reach her current position.
“I believe people appreciate the authenticity,” Pacheco stated. “As though we were making no effort to be anything. We were not attempting to excel [in golf]. Due to the fact that golf can be so serious and daunting to a lot of people, we were merely demonstrating its lighter side. I believe we simply wished to demonstrate a lighter, more humorous side, and the audience responded well. You are drinking and having fun while you are out and about.”
Pacheco’s position as a social media influencer led to her romantic relationship.
She stated, “I feel like I struggled a lot in my twenties, but I’ve always felt very fortunate.” “I’m one of those individuals who believes that everything happens for a reason. I don’t really have any regrets in my life since I always believe that everything has happened to me has led me to whatever comes next, which is typically something amazing, even if it begins poorly. This job path led to my engagement.”
Pacheco did not identify the man with whom she became engaged in December, nor does she publish him on Instagram, as she believes this is not what her followers want to see.
In January, the couple relocated into a property in Laguna Beach that is closer to some of Pacheco’s golfing friends, making it easier for her to produce additional footage.
When exactly will she walk down the aisle?
Pacheco said as she flashed her enormous engagement ring over Zoom, “I think we’ll want to do something sooner rather than later, so we’re going to try to get married this year.” “I’m not very fond of waiting, and neither is he. So maybe like late summer or something like that.”
Pacheco’s fiancé frequently photographs her for Instagram. In December, he took a series of seductive photographs of the influencer standing in New York City while wearing a brown leather corset. In addition to shooting her own footage, she frequently collaborates with a variety of photographers and editors
This is only the beginning of Pacheco’s influence as a rising social media sensation in golf. In 2023, she intends to launch a podcast and her own brand of women’s golf clothing.
