Holy crap! With 4.3 million Britons smoking e-cigarettes, vaping has reached historic levels.

According to a survey, the use of e-cigarettes has risen to record levels, with an estimated 4.3 million Britons currently smoking them.

According to the statistics, 8.3% of adults in England, Wales, and Scotland use vapes, an increase from 1.7%, or around 8,000 individuals, 10 years ago.

The report’s author, Action on Smoking and Health, said there has been a “vaping revolution,” with the percentage of vapers who have never smoked cigarettes jumping from 4.9% to 8.1% this year.

With an estimated 4.3 million Britons now smoking e-cigarettes, vaping has reached record levels, according to a survey.

E-cigarette users said that their primary motivation for using them was to stop smoking in order to avoid doing so again.

About 2.4 million of the 4.3 million vapers are former smokers, 1.5 million are still smoking, and 350,000 have never smoked.

According to statistics provided to PA and derived from a YouGov study of 13,000 individuals, 35% of vapers also smoke, and 1 in 5 stated they used a vape to help them stop.

Although it is illegal to offer vapes to anyone under 18, between 2020 and 2022, there was an increase in the percentage of 11 to 17-year-olds who vape from 4 to 7.

The majority of vapers stated they used e-cigarettes to stop smoking and to keep from starting up again, while 14% said they did so “just for fun.”

However, the survey shows that disposable e-cigarette use is on the increase, going from 2.3% of vapers in 2021 to 15% this year. The majority of vapers reported using refillable tank systems.

According to the authors, disposable vapes are on the rise since younger persons are using them at a rate of 48% of all vapers between the ages of 18 and 24.

They discovered that apple and menthol were the two most preferred flavors.

Hazel Cheeseman, deputy chief executive of ASH, said that “over the past decade we’ve seen a vaping revolution take root.”

Millions of people have used vapes as a part of a quit attempt, and there are now five times as many vapers as there were in 2012.

However, the survey shows that disposable e-cigarette use is on the increase, going from 2.3% of vapers in 2021 to 15% this year. The majority of vapers reported using refillable tank systems.

However, not everyone has had success with them. Fewer than half of smokers who have tried them have given up, and 28% have never even attempted one.

The government claims that the “vaping revolution” would enable them to achieve their goal of making the nation smoke-free by 2030, but this won’t be sufficient. Instead, we need a comprehensive strategy that will benefit all smokers.

A different survey from ASH released earlier this year found that the percentage of youngsters who vape is increasing, with many of them being inspired by social media platforms like TikTok.

Earlier this year a report from ASH concluded that the proportion of children vaping is on the rise, with many being influenced by social media sites such as TikTok
