HIT-AND-RUN IN BRONX STREET: A SPEEDING DRIVER HITS A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL

A driver hit a 12-year-old girl at high speeds on a Bronx roadway critically injured her.

According to the NYPD, the horrific footage was taken on security footage on Boone Avenue at 4.30 p.m. on Sunday.

Just minutes before the car came into view of the video, the 12-year-old girl and another individual appeared to be attempting to sprint across the street to meet one other.

Her companion escapes being hit and is seen hiding in the corner as he witnesses his friend getting hit.

The small girl’s body is forcibly pushed over the roof of the car, rolling, and her shoes and cell phone are thrown into the air.

The driver’s speed is unknown, however the speed limit on Boone Avenue is 20 mph.

Before tumbling off the passenger side, her body slides up to the roof of the car.

The driver comes to a complete halt, but does not exit the vehicle, before slowly driving along the street.

It’s unclear whether the girl, who was hidden between two automobiles and out of sight, was conscious or not at the time.

According to the New York Post, the girl sustained lacerations and bruising and was sent to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was driving a black BMW sedan, according to police, and they are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

According to Pix 11, the driver faces allegations of fleeing the scene of an accident.

The hit-and-run occurred as violence in New York City remains high. When compared to the same period last year, overall crime is up about 40% in 2022.

Except for murder and shootings, every violent crime is on the rise in New York, with felony assault, burglary, and robbery all increasing by 19 percent, 32 percent, and 39 percent, respectively.
