Her one-year-old daughter was left with horrible dog attack injuries, according to her mother

A one-year-old child who had her lipped split in half and required skin grafts after the family’s ‘beautiful’ St Bernard tried to rip her face off over a year ago is still ‘traumatised,’ according to her frightened mother.

The pet, which weighed 132 pounds and stood 6 feet tall on its hind legs, had to be put down after mother Lizanne Naudé, 32, of Johannesburg, South Africa, discovered tiny Mené drenched in blood.

The toddler also suffered a “huge wound around her neck” as a result of the unprovoked attack.

The tragic attack, which still haunts Ms Naudé’s family, seemed to come out of nowhere because the dog was ‘house trained and great with the kids.’

Last year, her small daughter Mené sat in the kitchen with one of their family dogs as her father, Jaco, 32, prepared the meal.

The St Bernard, who dwarfed the tiny kid, was overwhelmed with a spontaneous attack of aggressiveness and buried his teeth into her face out of nowhere.
