Harry and Meghan’s daughter has been christened by the archbishop of Los Angeles

On Friday, the Archbishop of Los Angeles baptized the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s daughter, who has been named “Princess Lilibet Diana,” according to a statement from the couple’s spokesperson.

Princess Lilibet’s nickname, “Lili,” is derived from the Queen’s family nickname, which was given to Princess Elizabeth when she was a toddler and unable to correctly pronounce her own name.

The one-year-old princess also bears the middle name Diana, which was selected in honor of her late grandmother.

This is the first time she has been referred to as a princess publicly. Princess Lilibet’s title was bestowed upon her when her grandfather, the King, ascended to the throne.

Although it is believed that the couple will not use the princess and prince titles in everyday conversation, they will be utilized in formal settings.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly not opposed to their children using their royal titles in the future, but want them to have the ability to make that decision for themselves.

The christening of Princess Lilibet Diana was conducted privately at the family’s residence in California.
