The chef began her cooking marathon on Friday, June 9 in Oye-Ekiti, setting a goal of cooking for 120 hours.

On Wednesday morning, Adeparusi successfully achieved her target of 120 hours of continuous cooking, amidst celebrations from supporters and criticism from skeptics.

However, questions arose regarding whether she followed the proper procedures and had actually broken Hilda Baci’s previous record of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

To clarify the situation, Legit, a media outlet, sent a press inquiry to the Guinness World Records on Tuesday, June 13, seeking firsthand information.

In response, the Guinness World Records stated that Chef Dammy did not seek their approval before commencing the Cook-A-Thon.

They explained that there are specific procedures and rules that should have been provided to her to ensure compliance.

In light of this revelation, Chef Dammy took to her Facebook page to address the issue.

She admitted that her motivation for the 120-hour cook-a-thon was to test her own capabilities rather than to break any records.

She expressed her joy at successfully cooking for 120 hours and emphasized her determination to persevere throughout the challenge.

In her Facebook post, Chef Dammy wrote, “I mentioned earlier that I embarked on this journey to test my capability, not for any Guinness World Record.

I am happy that I cooked for 120 hours, and I am proud that I never gave up.”

While the Guinness World Records did not officially recognize Chef Dammy’s achievement, she remains satisfied with her personal accomplishment and the resilience she demonstrated throughout the rigorous cooking marathon.
