Five days after losing their Maltese cross shih-tzu, a couple released heartbreaking video of the moment they were reunited with their pet.

Elissaundra Augusteyn and Sofia Hernandez had been hunting for Miaa since she escaped during a Sunday stroll at The Spit on the Gold Coast.

Ms. Augusteyn and Ms. Hernandez had organized a search party prior to Saturday, when they discovered their dog walking through bushland.

A video showed the emotional reaction of the couple when Miaa ran into their arms.

‘Mi mi,’ Ms Augusteyn responded. “Hello child, come here. Oh my goodness.’

The couple shrieks with delight and hugs one another while petting their beloved dog.

This is a miraculous occurrence. This is a miracle,’ remarked Ms. Augustyn.

The video was shared to Facebook expressing gratitude for the local community’s ongoing support.

“MIAA HAS BEEN FOUND MY HEART IS SO OVERFLOWING OMG I CANNOT!!! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT, the caption reads.

A video recorded the emotional couple as Miaa ran into their arms.

Ms. Augusteyn recalls the joyous occasion when the three were reunited as a family.

She told Daily Mail Australia, “She was overjoyed to see me.” She came racing like a squealing infant.

The couple initially offered a $1,000 prize for the return of their lost dog, but later boosted it to $10,000.

After offering the incentive, Ms. Augusteyn stated, “We have decided to invest our savings in a home and our future together.”

There is no home if Miaa is absent.

This is the only cash we own. We simply want her back.
