Glasgow community pays tribute to “talented” and “kind” teacher found dead in her home

Police in Glasgow have launched a manhunt after Marelle Sturrock, 35, a heavily pregnant teacher, was found dead in her home in the Craigton area of the city.

The police are treating the death as suspicious and have been conducting an “extensive search” for a missing man that is being treated as linked to Sturrock’s death.

Officers discovered Sturrock’s body after colleagues and friends were reportedly concerned that she had not shown up for work at Sandwood Primary School.

The police have urged anyone with information to contact them.

Tributes flow for “talented” Glasgow teacher

Friends and former colleagues have paid tribute to Marelle Sturrock, a teacher who was found dead in her Glasgow home earlier this week.

The Glasgow Light Opera Club described her as a “kind, generous and talented soul who inspired all of us lucky enough to know her”.

The Wick Players, a drama club, said that she had been a “very talented young lady both with her singing and her acting”.

Sturrock was pregnant at the time of her death.

The police are treating the case as suspicious and have launched a manhunt.
