Georgia couple sustain injury on first date

A Georgia couple had a terrifying experience on their first date when they slipped off a waterfall while hiking in August.

Jordan Bennett and Zania Robinson fell from the top of the waterfall, which was approximately 120 feet high.

The storm caused the couple to slip, and they were forced to hike for 30 minutes while injured.

Robinson had extensive wounds on her face, and Bennett suffered from two fractured shoulders.

Despite the traumatic experience, the couple recovered by each other’s side and have since developed a strong relationship.

In a shocking turn of events, the fall may have saved Bennett’s life as doctors discovered stomach cancer while he was recovering.

He is currently receiving treatment for it. Bennett and Robinson credit the fall for putting them on the path to lasting love.

They took pictures, had their first kiss up there, and were immediately bonded.

The couple spoke with WXIA about the life-altering event, recalling how they slipped and fell, and were forced to hike back to get help.

Robinson’s extensive facial injuries caused her to worry that Bennett would no longer be interested in her, but he immediately asked her to be his girlfriend when they were able to see each other again.

Despite Robinson’s improvement, Bennett’s condition worsened, and doctors diagnosed him with advanced stage 3 stomach cancer.

Bennett will undergo surgery to remove his stomach in March and will be on a feeding tube for the next six to eight months.

However, he is ready to fight with Robinson by his side. His family, and Robinson, are sticking by his side through the battle. GoFundMe pages for Bennett and Robinson, respectively, have been started.
