Jennifer Newsom, the wife of Gavin Newsom, requested Harvey Weinstein’s assistance in handling a sex scandal involving her husband two years after she claims the film mogul raped her.
The email will be submitted to the Los Angeles jury as obvious evidence that their rendezvous was consensual. It was initially highlighted yesterday night by Weinstein’s legal team in a filing.
Jennifer Siebel Newsom claims that Weinstein raped her in a hotel room in 2005 after ‘luring’ her there. She was an actress at the time and had not yet begun dating Newsom.
A year after she met and began dating Newsom in 2007, he became embroiled in an unpleasant sex scandal.
He was the mayor of San Francisco and had an affair with the wife of one of his closest advisers, Ruby Rippey Bourke.

The judge suggested that Weinstein’s right to due process was being exaggerated by the attorney.

She writes at the time, “I was naive, new to the industry, and had no idea how to handle his aggressive advances.”
Five women are charged with 11 charges of rape and sexual assault against Weinstein.
In New York, he is already serving a 23-year jail sentence for rape and sexual abuse.

Initially, Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson stated that he could play only a little portion of the recording, but following consultation with the defense, it was decided that he should play the entire 43-minute recording.
Gutierrez, an Italian model, is one of four women who have been permitted to speak at the trial about being sexually abused by Weinstein, despite their allegations not being among those for which he is being prosecuted.

The court and jurors resumed jury selection in the afternoon, following a day and a half of disputing motions over the admissible evidence in the trial, including one in which Mel Gibson was approved as a prosecution witness.

Those with strong views had differing opinions about the movement.

Another woman stated that she had little respect for folks who, after ten years, decided, “Oh, this happened to me, too.”
She stated, “I believe they are trying for their 15 minutes of fame.”
