Businessman Jamey Hargreaves, whose father John Hargreaves established the British fashion and homeware giant Matalan, formerly owned the ancient Ollerton Grange.

Jamey Hargreaves (pictured above with his then-girlfriend Tara Palmer-Tomkinson in 2004) is the heir to the Matalan empire and bought the property in 2000

The mansion was purchased by Mr. Hargreaves in 2000. He formerly dated the late television star Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.

At the age of 30, he invested the next seven years on creating a glitzy recreation facility that had a swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room.

He also replaced almost 100,000 bricks during substantial renovations to the old home and outlying structures.

It was dubbed “Britain’s blingiest bachelor pad” in 2010 when it was first listed for sale for £30 million, double the asking price.

It lies just outside the town of Ollerton and dwarfs the many $200,000 to $200,000 tiny houses nearby.

The opulent Jacobean-style property, which doubles the size of the original residence and has eight bedrooms, seven baths, and its own “excellent” leisure complex, was constructed in 1901.

The downstairs also features a great hall (pictured above) and dining room on the ground floor, and an additional dining hall on the second floor

The estate, which is surrounded by 141 acres of property with lakes and parks with shooting chances, also has a three-bedroom penthouse apartment, three cottages, an estate office, and garaging.

According to Liverpool-based Abacus Consult, who completed the entire thorough design of all mechanical services, Mr. Hargreaves built a swimming pool and sauna among other amenities.

The project comprised both the creation of a new leisure wing with a banquet hall, gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam rooms as well as the complete renovation of the original home and outbuildings while complying to rigorous conservation criteria.

“Mr. Hargreaves has resided in Monaco recently, although he has commercial interests in Britain.”

The inside of the living area is more traditionally styled in contrast to the new leisure complex with its cutting-edge technology, red-tiled pool, and sculpted aluminium ceiling.

The leisure wing also has two plant rooms, a plunge pool, a solarium (sun room), and a yoga room, according to the house’s floor plans.

A combination of antiques from different eras is piled on top of absolutely accurate Arts and Crafts wood panelling in the Victorian pile.

It also features a large number of living and entertainment space, including a study, living room, breakfast room, sitting room, drawing room, and ante room.

On the ground level, there is a great hall, a contemporary kitchen, a formal dining room, and a second kitchen and dining hall for catering.

Several of the other six bedrooms also have en suite bathrooms, and the master bedroom is surrounded by a luxurious en suite and dressing area.

In addition, the property features three smaller, independent homes called Honeysuckle Cottage, Rose Cottage, and Gate Lodge, as well as a basement with a number of storage spaces.

The gatehouse supposedly housed two Ghurkhas while Mr. Hargreaves resided there.

The beautiful octagonal tower with an ogee cap at the front door, as well as the mullioned windows and towering, diagonally-set chimneys, are the most striking aspects of the home’s façade.

The estate is a half-hour walk from Knutsford Town Center and is only accessible via a road that goes to this specific property.

There is a garage nearby that is said to sell the most Aston Martins in the nation.

The magnificent house is now again being offered for sale by Jackson-Stops, Alderley Edge.

Mr. Hargreaves said that he intended the mansion to seem to have been “passed down to me for centuries” in an interview with The Times in 2010.

I knew it was going to be a major task, but I was just 30 and imagined I’d have this home for the rest of my life and have kids by the time I completed it.

Because I have high standards, “I wanted to do everything perfect and I knew it would take many years.”

He noted that the project cost £30 million at the time, adding, “We had a hard-core crew of 30 people on site for five years.”

“Every window was removed and rebuilt.” I filled the lake, which is completely supplied, after going through four pools.

“To be really honest, I don’t make much money from this place. Almost everything is what I paid for it.

It is estimated that Mr. Hargreaves spent £5–10 million for the home, making the cost of his renovations over £20 million.

At the time, he noted that he would “be happy not selling it,” but that because he lives in Monaco and only visits the property sometimes.

The home parties with 10 or 12 guests over were the greatest, he said.

Those who wish to go shooting may do so for the day; everyone else stays at the spa.

They are welcome to utilise the treatment rooms, and we will send a masseuse.

The home must be occupied. Although I am seeing someone, I think the home requires a whole family.
