Former Hollywood star Bridget Fonda has confirmed that she has no plans to return to acting, more than two decades after her retirement.
The 59-year-old actress shot to fame in the 1990s with her roles in The Godfather Part III and Single White Female, but she disappeared from the public eye in 2002.
Recently, she was approached by photographers at Los Angeles International Airport and was asked whether she would like to make a comeback in Hollywood, to which she replied that she doesn’t think so, adding that it’s too nice being a civilian.
When asked whether she could change her mind about retiring, Fonda said no.
Fonda, who is part of Hollywood’s renowned Fonda family, including her father, the late actor Peter Fonda, and her aunt, movie star Jane Fonda, starred in several high-profile movies during her successful Hollywood career.
However, her last acting credit came in 2002 for the TV mini-series The Snow Queen, while her final major movie role was in 2001’s Kiss of the Dragon.
The reason for Fonda’s retirement is not entirely clear, but since then she has led a reclusive life, rarely being spotted out in public.
However, Fonda was seen running errands in Los Angeles recently and looked almost unrecognizable from her acting days.
Fonda married film composer Danny Elfman in 2003, and the couple lives in a lavish ranch in the hills of Santa Barbra.
