Former Chiefs goalkeeper Akpeyi joins a new PSL club

After failing to sign with Sekhukhune United and Chippa United, former Kaizer Chiefs goalie Daniel Akpey has finally found a new club.

The 36-year-old Nigerian has reportedly rejoined with coach Ernst Middendorp after virtually abandoning all chance of playing in the DStv Premiership.

Although the former Amakhosi player had been with Swallows for several months, the club’s recent FIFA transfer suspension prohibited him from being registered until last week, when the ban was removed.

iDiskiTimes’ Sinethemba Makonco stated that former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has found a new Premier Soccer League team and joined with Swallows FC once their ban was removed.

Additionally, the Chiefs’ starting lineup features fresh additions

“He had been training with Swallows earlier in the season, but Soweto could not settle their transfer ban at the time, leaving the player in limbo.

“However, he has now signed a six-month contract with a two-year extension option,” the article continued.
