Friends of the 21-year-old footballer-turned-drill rapper who was fatally murdered at the Notting Hill carnival claim he was “simply there to have fun.”

Takayo Nembhard, 21, was tragically stabbed at 8 p.m. on Ladbroke Grove beneath the Westway flyover as thousands lined the streets for the west London carnival.
After the stabbing, officers administered first aid to the man until paramedics arrived; he was then transported to an ambulance “through substantial crowds in tough circumstances.”
Mr. Nembhard, also known as TKorStretch, was transported to a neighboring hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Metropolitan Police stated that his family has been notified and is receiving assistance from specialized personnel.

At 9.30 p.m., police activated exceptional powers within the region in accordance with a Section 60 order, allowing them to stop and search anyone without suspicion for “dangerous instruments and offensive weapons” until 1 a.m. today. There were a handful of violent events and serious stabbings at this year’s festival, according to detectives.
Scotland Yard reported that as of 12:01 a.m. today, cops had made 209 arrests since the beginning of the carnival, including 46 for assault, eight for sexual assault, 36 for drug possession, five for criminal damage, and 27 for public order.

Since he joined the department in 2015, Police Horse (PH) Sandown, a 14-year-old chestnut stallion, has patrolled “all types of events” across London for seven years.
A statement praised PH Sandown’s “bravery and courage” as well as his “affectionate personality.” It was reported that PH Sandown was so well-mannered that he was the “go-to horse” for mounted branch officers beginning their training.
Met Police statement: ‘It is with great sadness that we report the untimely death of Police Horse (PH) Sandown, who fell at the Notting Hill Carnival on Sunday, August 28. PH 149 Sandown was a chestnut gelding of 14 years of age and 16 hands in height. He was instrumental in helping to police London. His seven-year police service was flawless, making him one of the Met’s most seasoned horses.
The eulogy continued, ‘PH Sandown was donated to the Metropolitan Police Department in 2015, and his pleasant nature instantly won over officers. He was the go-to mount for helping novice officers gain confidence during their training.
He was picked to perform at the Mounted Activity Ride at Olympia and the Mounted Musical Ride in addition to being a pro at police all types of events in London. He displayed bravery and daring at countless football matches.
The message stated that the horse was “much loved” and would be “greatly missed.”
