Flowers at Milton Keynes residence where dog mauled four-year-old child

This morning, Milton Keynes residents are placing flowers at a temporary monument outside a house in honor of a four-year-old child who was fatally attacked by a dog.

Last night, armed policemen stormed the home and warned the neighbors to remain inside while they corralled and ‘humanely’ killed the animal.

After being severely hurt in the assault in the backyard of her house in Broadlands, Netherfield, the toddler was declared dead at the spot. Her death’s official cause has not yet been made public.

No one else was wounded, according to the police, and officers with specialized training are helping the girl’s family.

Yesterday shortly after 5 o’clock, officers and paramedics were called to a house in Broadlands, Netherfield, after complaints of a dog attack on a youngster in a backyard.

Police advised residents to remain inside in case the dog tried to get away.

Residents in Broadlands were instructed to stay inside, one said to The MK Citizen yesterday night.

The resident said it was “very worrisome” to see “so many cops and blue lights around” in the neighborhood.

According to the publication, several residences in the neighborhood were evacuated after police issued a warning that locals “may hear a gunshot.”

The canine was “humanely eliminated” as of yesterday night, according to the police, who did not specify how it was slain.

In relation to the inquiry, no one has been taken into custody.

Superintendent Matt Bullivant of the Thames Valley Police said yesterday night: “This is a very unfortunate event in which we suspect that a kid has died after being attacked by a dog.

Clearly, the inquiry is in its very early stages, thus making assumptions about the incident’s precise circumstances at this time would be erroneous and counterproductive.

‘However, earlier this evening it was decided to euthanize the implicated dog in order to protect public safety, and this was done in a compassionate manner.

I am aware of the significant effects this will have on the neighborhood and the general public, and residents can anticipate seeing a significant police presence in the area this evening and for the foreseeable future as our investigation progresses.

“I want to reassure everyone that there is currently no cause to think that the general population is in risk.”

“Anyone with inquiries should feel free to contact our police and get answers, but I strongly advise against making assumptions about the situation, particularly on social media.

I am aware that the media will probably be interested in this situation. In light of this, I would like to request that, at this very trying time, the privacy of the affected family be respected. What they must be going through right now is difficult to fathom.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is requested to call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111 or call 101 and reference number 20230131-1546, according to the police. Online reports are also an option.
