Florida man arrested for biting off pet python’s head

According to police, a Florida man was detained after reportedly biting the head off a pet python during a domestic quarrel.

According to NBC Miami, Kevin Justin Mayorga, 22, is suspected of biting the snake after getting into a fight with a lady in a Cutler Bay condo early on Monday.

Just after 5.30 a.m., police went to reports of the domestic incident and found the beheaded python.

The female yelled for police to “just kick the door in” before the cops heard a guy and woman screaming inside the flat.

Mayorga then allegedly prevented police from entering and momentarily restrained the woman without her consent, according to police.

Mayorga rejected commands to come out with his hands up, so an officer tried to subdue him with a Taser but was unsuccessful.

While being restrained by another police, Mayorga allegedly smacked the officer in the face with a handcuff.

Once Mayorga was eventually taken into custody, police discovered the snake and its severed head next to the front door.

Mayorga allegedly bit the pet’s head off during their quarrel, the woman said to the police.

Mayorga and the woman’s connection wasn’t immediately clear.

He is accused of false detention, animal cruelty with the intent to kill, and resisting arrest. On a $15,000 bond, Mayorga is being kept in custody.
