Firewalking event: 25 people with burn injuries with 13 in the hospital in Switzerland

A firewalking event in Switzerland that went horribly wrong resulted in 25 individuals requiring medical attention.

Last night, emergency personnel were called to a private gathering near Lake Zurich.

Several people had attempted to walk over hot coals, a rite of passage that is still observed in some settings.

According to local authorities, 13 of those treated required hospitalization.

The remaining victims were treated at the site and limped away.

It’s unclear whether the incident in Switzerland’s Au peninsula was a religious or social occasion.

Firewalking is frequently included in charity or corporate events.

It is occasionally employed by businesses as part of team-building activities, especially in the United Kingdom.

According to one British organization that offers the service, it “can help with most aspects of corporate team building, motivation, change management, or a great stress reliever.”

An investigation of the incident’s circumstances is ongoing.

Since her breakup four nights prior, Ms. Bishop had not been seen in public until that moment. She made her first public appearance with Mr. Panton in 2014. Since then, the two have been seen together at a variety of occasions, including Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough’s wedding in 2018.
