Female gorilla introduces her new baby to visitors at the Calgary Zoo.

In a touching scene, a female gorilla introduced her young child to guests at the Calgary Zoo.

ViralHog posted the video online on Thursday.

It shows the mother grasping her baby by the arms and hoisting it into the air before cuddling it and kissing the newborn gorilla’s forehead.

I’m so sorry! On the video, one person can be heard saying.

Do you think she just kissed it? Then, a different woman thanks the gorillas for showing us, she says.

On Friday, the Instagram video received more than 16,000 likes and 233 comments.

Oh my gosh, I adore this so much! Thank you for making my day brighter, one Instagram user wrote.

Mommy adores her tiny child!

Another individual remarked, “How sweet and heartwarming to witness.”

Another jokingly said, “Reminds of nurses at hospitals with infants.”

However, several individuals demanded that the animals be set free, while others appeared to find the comments made by the women in the video offensive.

A user on Instagram said, “It is astonishing that these women are startled that a mother of any species other than the human cares for and lives her child.

“They do, of course, she continued.

Another user wrote: “They don’t belong there,” while another person added: “Sad… these creatures should be free!!!”

Six adult gorillas live at the Calgary Zoo, and one of them gave birth to a baby in April.

Given that gorillas are a severely endangered species, the birth of the zoo’s newest gorilla is an especially happy occasion.

The natural gorilla population has shrunk by 80% during the past 30 years, according to Calgary Zoo.

The zoo claims that this is because of habitat destruction and poaching, primarily caused by the mineral coltan, which is required for the manufacture of cell phones.

Another touching gorilla film was shot in Dallas, Texas, in March when a zookeeper who was on maternity leave introduced her young daughter to one of the animals she cared for.

To impress 20-year-old Juba, Mary Kate Findley brought her two-month-old daughter Olivia to the gorilla enclosure.

More than 30 million people have watched the video, which was posted on TikTok.
