Fans of Warrior Nun have purchased a billboard outside the Los Angeles headquarters of Netflix to request a third season.

Netflix dropped the popular series last month, just after Season 2 was released.

Fans of the show, which purportedly received the greatest viewer ratings of any Netflix series, have demanded that the streaming service change its decision. Over one hundred thousand individuals have signed a petition, and Twitter hashtags such as #SaveWarriorNun and #NetflixCorrectYourMistake are frequently trending.

Now the campaign has moved things up a notch, with Warrior Nun fans renting a billboard on Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard (near Netflix’s LA offices) appealing on the platform to save the show.

The billboard was funded through crowdsourcing, with supporters paying over $34,000 in an attempt to save Warrior Nun.

Showrunner for Warrior Nun, Simon Barry, commented on the billboard: “Incredible. I am astounded and quite impressed. You guys are next level!”

Based on the comic book series by Ben Dunn, Warrior Nun follows Ava Silva (Alba Baptista) as she awakens in a morgue with a divine item implanted in her back and realizes she is now part of an ancient order tasked with combating demons on Earth.

Barry wrote: “I’ve just learned that Netflix will not renew Warrior Nun – my heartfelt gratitude to all the fans who fought so hard to bring attention to our series, and for the love you showed me, the cast, and the entire production staff. It was an honor to participate in this.”

When asked if the show may be saved by another network, Barry responded, “We are investigating this possibility.” We will determine whether there is a way to relocate the show. Will keep all parties informed. #SaveWarriorNun.”

Baptista tweeted about the cancellation: “Working on Warrior Nun was a very significant chapter in my life. Thank you to the actors and crew for contributing their absolute best. We appreciate the love and support of our fans.

“I recognize and adore you. Everything was for you. I’m forever grateful.”
