A failed asylum seeker who had previously been deported from the United Kingdom has been apprehended in a boat in the English Channel.
On October 29, Border Force agents rescued Aziz Akakhel, 32, from a tiny boat between France and England.
Officers transported the Afghan national to the Manston immigration office and charged him with entering the United Kingdom without a proper entry clearance, also known as a passport.
However, this was not Akakhel’s first attempt to enter the United Kingdom, as the court subsequently learned he entered the country in 2007 by hiding in a truck.

According to recent reports, a group of asylum seekers slept in £100-per-night hotels for up to 15 months while performing $5-per-hour cash jobs.
Akakhel requested asylum in January 2007, but it was denied a month later in February 2007, and he was unsuccessful in obtaining refuge despite appealing the decision.
However, he disappeared and was captured ten years later as he attempted to board a boat at the Port of Dover.
Since 2014, he claimed to have resided in Italy, where he was eventually deported.
On November 11 of this year, Akakhel was charged with entering the United Kingdom without legal entry permission. However, when he appeared in Folkestone Magistrates’ Court, he disputed the accusation.
The case was postponed in order to obtain an interpreter, and when Mr. Akakhel returned to the same court on November 22, he entered a guilty plea.
The prosecutor, Sidumiso Mayo, informed the magistrates that Akakhel made his first attempt to enter the nation via truck in 2007.
She stated, “He requested asylum in January 2007, but it was denied in February 2007.”

“In April of that year, he filed an appeal, which was denied in July, and he was placed on reported limitations but reported as an absconder.”
She said that the Home Office did not hear from Akakhel until he was detained at the Port of Dover in January 2017.
She stated, “He informed officials that he was attempting to reach Italy via France, where he had lived since 2014.”
The court was informed that Akakhel then decided to be returned to Italy willingly, and in 2017 he was transferred to Rome.
Miss Mayo stated, “There was no more touch with him until he was apprehended on October 29 in the English Channel.”
The matter has been referred to the Canterbury Crown Court for sentence, but no date has been set.
