Fabian Delph, a former midfielder for both England and Manchester City, announced his retirement on Tuesday.
Delph played for City, Everton, Aston Villa, and Leeds United while making 204 Premier League appearances.
Between 2015 and 2019, the 32-year-old spent four years with City, where he won two Premier League championships.
Additionally, he represented Villa in the FA Cup and League Cup finals, where they both came in second place.
Delph, who represented England 20 times, departed City three years ago to join Everton, but injuries limited him to just 21 appearances in all competitions the past two seasons.
After failing to find a new club after his contract with Everton expired at the end of the previous campaign, he decided to hang up his boots.
So, he wrote on Instagram, “Today I declare my retirement with nothing but happiness and gratitude for all this great game has given me.”
“Huge shout out to my family, friends, players, and staff from the incredible teams I’ve had the honor to represent, as well as the love I’ve had from the fans.”
