Ex-Ohio schools director accused of abducting 2 kids in WV

Huntington, West Virginia According to authorities, a former Ohio superintendent of schools has been accused of using money to get two kids into his car.

Following his arrest last week, William J. Morrison III, 59, of Huntington, was charged with two felony counts of abduction, according to a statement from the city’s police department.

On August 17, Morrison is said to have stopped a 9-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl in his car and made an offer for them to watch his 4-year-old kid for $20 each.

According to the statement, Morrison took the kids to a spot, pulled over, and instructed the boy to come out to check one of the tyres. The car left with the girl inside after the guy walked outside.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court, Morrison reportedly boosted the offer to $100 after the youngster began to weep.

According to the police, the girl was able to escape by opening a car door a few streets later. Both kids were unharmed.

Police in Huntington requested assistance from the public, and officers searched Morrison’s home and an apartment in Barboursville as a result.

At the Western Regional Jail on Tuesday, Morrison was being held without bail. Whether Morrison has a lawyer who could comment on the allegations is not indicated in jail records.

South of Columbus, Ohio, in the Hamilton Local School District, Morrison served as the district’s previous superintendent.

After crack cocaine was allegedly discovered in his automobile by Columbus police, Morrison entered a guilty plea to a minor narcotics offence there in 2017. Later, he lost his job as superintendent.
