Employee at a US daycare has been arrested

An employee at a US daycare has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and assault and battery after a mother reported that her child’s mouth had been taped shut.

Ami Li allegedly put masking tape over the two-year-old girl’s mouth and made her sit in a “thinking chair”.

Li reportedly took the action to prevent the child from waking other sleeping children.

Li has been summoned to appear at Quincy District Court at a later date.

The nursery has been contacted for comment. The incident is being investigated by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
