Emma Hurst, a member of Parliament for Animal Justice, issued deadly threats because of her activity and political views

Due to her political beliefs, a female legislator has spoken out about the horrific abuse she has received from men, including rape threats and murder threats.

Emma Hurst, a member of the NSW upper house for the Animal Justice Party, shared a video on Facebook detailing the awful threats she has received.Ms Hurst, 41, posted the video last Friday to mark the UN's 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence

She stated that it was “an open statement to all the males who give me insults” and disclosed that she had been struck by a car.

She said, “To the man who stated “you should have been shot on the sheets” and “someone should murder you,” respectively.

“To everyone who has contacted me or my team with death threats or rape threats, I want you to know that you are that violent guy,” she said.

She reported receiving texts from hunters informing her that they had used her face as a target.

“Shooters have informed me that they have grabbed my corflute (political advertisement featuring her image) and are using it as target practice.”

Ms. Hurst stated that she was also followed, pursued, and struck by a car.

She stated, “You have taken my safety, but you will not take my voice.”

Telling me not to protect animals is like to telling a lady she shouldn’t be alone at night. No, simply no. Your aggression is your decision, and I do not tolerate your violence.’

The representative expressed hope that her film showing the pain she had through will convince some guys, or even just one, that their ideas and words are incorrect.

She stated, “I am sharing this in the hopes that at least one person would see it and decide to alter their behavior.”

When we take a position against all types of violence, whether human or non-human, we transform society.

Ms. Hurst, 41, published the video on Friday to commemorate the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

Ms. Hurst stated that it is feasible for individuals to take stock and recognize their own terrible behavior.

Is this what you truly desire for yourself? You may alter this narrative. You may decide to stop being a violent man, she added.

In September, she criticized a fellow lawmaker for failing to defend her from sexist remarks.

MP Emma Hurst (pictured) stated that she had received messages from hunters stating that they had used her face as a target.

She said that Mark Banasiak of the Shooters, Fishers, and Farmers Party had ‘liked’ insulting comments made about her on social media and even commented to a message she took as a threat of physical harm.

One of Mr. Banasiak’s favorite statements was, “If she had a brain, she’d be scary.”

Ms. Hurst, a survivor of domestic abuse, remarked, “It’s unsettling to hear these things.”

This is precisely why it is difficult to get more women into politics.

Ms. Hurst was particularly offended by a man’s remark that Mr. Banasiak should “step on her and step on her hard.”

Mr. Banasiak answered, “Thanks… will do”; however, he later stated that he interpreted the phrase as a challenge to Ms. Hurst’s ideas, not a physical assault.

The Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Mr. Banasiak for comment.
