The eight-year-old victim remains in serious condition beside her mother, who was also discovered unconscious at the scene at a domestic house in Clarecastle, Ireland, near Ennis.

Due to the kid victim’s young age, the Gardai conducted a comprehensive investigation to determine the facts surrounding the apparent assault, and specialized detectives were recruited.

According to Independent, the two were staying at a refugee center after fleeing their home country due to the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Other refugees residing at the center were relocated to emergency housing in the heart of Ennis as gardai sealed off the crime scene.

The victims were discovered at the Clarecastle property but were taken to University Hospital Limerick for serious care.

Garda are spotted yesterday shutting off the residence in Clarecastle prior to a technical assessment of the crime scene.

Yesterday morning around 8 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the location where they discovered the girl and her mother unresponsive.

According to the Irish Sun, the couple was rushed to a hospital in Limerick, but the girl may be transported to Dublin for specialized care after sustaining what sources close to the case described as “several stab wounds.”

A garda spokesperson stated, “Just before 8 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, garda and emergency services responded to a domestic situation in Clarecastle, County Clare.”

A female youngster with severe injuries was discovered and transported to University Hospital Limerick, where she remains in critical condition.

‘An adult female was also discovered unresponsive at the scene and transported to University Hospital Limerick, where she is likewise in critical condition.

“An incident room has been formed at the Ennis Garda Station, and a Senior Investigating Officer has been designated to oversee the inquiry.

“The family has been assigned a Family Liaison Officer.

“The crime scene is currently being conserved and analyzed by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.”

This inquiry is active and ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.

The perpetrator of the heinous attack and the events leading up to it are unclear.

Today, Gardai are conducting door-to-door interviews in the region to collect additional information, and a senior investigating officer from the Ennis Garda Station has been assigned to the matter.

Officers are also attempting to establish whether else was present on the property during the event.

A garda spokesperson pleaded for individuals with knowledge of the incident to assist investigators.
