Eight grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II will attend a vigil

Queen Elizabeth II’s eight grandchildren will participate in a memorial vigil.

Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall, Peter Philips, Lady Louise Windsor, and James, Viscount Severn will attend a special ceremony at Westminster Hall on Saturday, September 17 to commemorate the life and reign of the 96-year-old monarch, who passed away at Balmoral last week at the age of 96.

The cousins are scheduled to stand in silence next to Her Majesty’s casket as they lead the Vigil of the Princes in memory of their grandmother.

This comes after the children of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, led a special vigil at Edinburgh’s St Giles Cathedral on Sunday, an action they will repeat on Friday.

Prince Harry, who served in the military for ten years, will be permitted to wear military attire at the vigil. However, it is unknown which uniform he will don, as he no longer holds a military position since leaving royal duties to live in California with his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, and their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 15 months.

The decision by the founder of the Invictus Games to wear his uniform has been hailed as “common sense.”

The Daily Mirror was told by a source that “common sense has prevailed.”

Given that the Duke of Sussex has served his country and is a highly recognized member of the military services for his work with veterans, the situation was absurd.

“It is important that all of the Queen’s grandchildren feel welcome and at ease as they grieve their grandmother together.”

In addition, Prince Andrew, Duke of York has been granted permission to wear military uniforms as a “last expression of respect” for his mother following his retirement from public employment following his involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein sex scandal.
