Eagles supporters smash over a bus stop during the NFC Championship celebration

After the Eagles defeated the 49ers in the NFC Championship on Sunday, the celebration in Philadelphia became far too boisterous.

According to the Philadelphia Crime Update, several Eagles supporters were injured when the SEPTA bus stop they were standing on collapsed on South Broad Street near City Hall. The website said that multiple injuries were recorded.

A group of people can be seen crashing through the glass ceiling of the bus shelter while surrounded by thousands of spectators in a video of the incident. The camera does not capture the aftermath of the fall, but individuals can be heard gasping and shouting in response to it.

One person can be heard screaming, “Oh my God,” while another responds, “I told you.”

It is unknown whether medical staff or authorities arrived at the location.

Thousands of supporters flooded the streets of Philadelphia, where “Fly Eagles Fly” cries could be heard reverberating from the Linc to downtown as the festivities went into the wee hours of the morning.

Prior to the celebrations, Philadelphia’s mayor, Jim Kenney, hoped that the situation would not deteriorate.

Kenney stated in a statement, “As a native Philadelphian and the mayor of this great city, I am thrilled to see fans of all ages and from every neighborhood celebrating together, full of pride and excitement.” This is a fantastic evening, and I implore Philadelphians to celebrate in a manner that is joyful, safe, and courteous.

The police greased the poles in downtown Philadelphia and erected barricades near popular places, including City Hall, in anticipation for the enormous fan presence.

After the Eagles’ dominating 31-7 victory against the 49ers to punch their ticket to Super Bowl 2023, Eagles fans did not refrain from climbing light fixtures and other structures. At one time, seven or more individuals were dangling from a traffic signal.

“Many of the preparations resemble similar events that have occurred in the past, with the most recent instance being the Phillies’ NLCS celebrations.”

This will be the Eagles’ fourth appearance in the Super Bowl. In their most recent championship game in February 2018, they overcame Tom Brady and the Patriots to capture their first title.

The Eagles will now face the Chiefs on February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
