Dylan Lyons’ fiancée seeks to raise $50,000 for IVF

Casey Fite, the fiancée of journalist Dylan Lyons who was killed while broadcasting, is seeking to raise $50,000 via GoFundMe to have Lyons’ baby through in vitro fertilization (IVF).

She had been planning to have a family with Lyons before he was killed on February 22 during a broadcast for Spectrum News 13 in Florida.

On the night of his death, Fite requested that doctors retrieve his sperm, and they were able to collect eight vials of it. Fite hopes to keep Lyons’ legacy alive by having their child.

In a heartfelt message on the GoFundMe page, Fite spoke about her relationship with Lyons and how they planned to get married and have children.

She also recounted her efforts to find a doctor to retrieve his sperm within 24 hours of his death. Fite said that Lyons was the love of her life and that he would have been the best dad in the world.

Lyons was killed during a broadcast about a homicide that had taken place earlier that day. The incident resulted in the deaths of three people, including a nine-year-old girl and her mother. Police arrested Keith Melvin Moses, a career criminal, in connection with the shootings.

Lyons, a University of Central Florida graduate, was known for being a voice for the voiceless and reported on a wide range of stories, including crime, politics, and social issues.

Fite described him as a remarkable, kind, loving, and caring person. The GoFundMe page had already raised over $1,000 as of Thursday night.
