Durban musicians woo crowds

This weekend, Durban saxophonist Naresh Veeran and vocalist Praline Ross will “cabaret” through five decades of hits on his Morningside garden.

Following a 10-year hiatus from public performances, Ross’s old-fashioned splendor and dulcet tones will captivate your senses with classics such as Unforgettable, Where The Boys Are, and At Last. The tenor sax of Veeran will breathe life into fan favorites such as Black Orpheus, Besame Mucho, and In A Sentimental Mood.

The bachelor hosts his end-of-month Sunday parties in his tranquil garden. Tomorrow’s performance begins at 1.30 p.m., and music fans are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, a blanket, and, of course, their favorite beverage. Tickets are R120 apiece, and reservations may be made by calling 083 376 0799.
