Drunken Nurse Strikes Down Pedestrian, Faces Disbarment and Prison
Drunk Driving Disaster:
Charlotte Brown, a 34-year-old nurse, drove under the influence, causing a horrific accident that left Mark Davies with life-changing injuries.
Brown, three-and-a-half times over the legal limit, slammed her VW Polo into Mr. Davies as he walked home from a night out.
The 48-year-old joiner suffered severe head trauma, facial fractures, leg injuries, and lost the use of his right arm and ability to walk unaided.
Night of Negligence:
Brown, a registered mental health nurse since 2017, was kicked out of Club One47 for her behavior less than an hour before the crash.
Ignoring the ejection, she got behind the wheel and attempted to drive, briefly stopping before speeding off and flipping her car outside a magistrates court.
Panicked, Brown ran from the scene, abandoning her overturned vehicle and injured victim.
She was later arrested at her boyfriend’s home.
Severe Consequences:
Mr. Davies, a father of three, spent over three months in the hospital due to his extensive injuries.
He now faces permanent disabilities, including impaired speech, limited mobility, and a paralyzed arm.
Brown, with no prior convictions, was struck off from the Nursing and Midwifery Council registry for a minimum of 18 months.
She was also sentenced to 16 months in prison for her reckless driving and hit-and-run offense.

Brown, a mother of one, expressed remorse and apologized to the Davies family in a written letter.
Her defense lawyer argued that this incident was not reflective of her true character.
Despite the apology and pleas for leniency, Judge Saffman emphasized the severity of the case, calling Mr. Davies’ injuries “some of the most serious” she had ever seen.
