Don Lemon is stunned by a royal pundit’s opinion on African reparations

CNN presenter Don Lemon was at a lost for words as a royal commentator informed him that reparations are required, but should be requested from the African chiefs who sold their subjects into slavery.

On the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, Lemon interviewed Hilary Fordwich and urged that the British royal family pay reparations.

Lemon stated, ‘Well, this will occur when… all of this riches, and you’ve heard about it, arrives at a time when England faces growing living costs, a living crisis, austerity budget cuts, etc.

Then there are people who demand reparations for colonialism, and they wonder, you know, $100 billion here, $24 billion there, $500 million there.

“Some people want to be repaid, and the general public wonders why we are suffering when you have so much wealth.” These are reasonable worries.

Fordwich responded, “Well, I believe you’re right about reparations in terms of whether or not people desire it. What they must do is always return to the beginning of the supply chain in order to determine where the chain began.

“This occurred in Africa and throughout the entire world when slavery existed.” Which nation was the first in the world to abolish slavery? The British were the first nation in the world to abolish slavery, a movement begun by William Wilberforce.Kaitlan Collins

In Great Britain, slavery was abolished. On the high seas, 2,000 naval personnel perished attempting to end slavery. Why? Because African kings were collecting up their own subjects and holding them in cages on the beaches, no one was rushing into Africa to rescue them.

“And I believe you are entirely correct. If reparations must be made, we must go back to the very beginning of the supply chain and ask, “Who was collecting up their own people and putting them in cages?” Absolutely. That should be their starting point.

“And maybe, I don’t know, the descendants of those families who died attempting to eradicate slavery on the high seas should also receive something at the same time,” she continued.

The evening before Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, CNN anchor Don Lemon interviewed Hilary Fordwich. The anchor proposed the royal family pay reparations for slavery.

The conversation between Lemon and Fordwich took place on the evening of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

After Fordwich’s remark, Lemon finished the interview by stating, “This is a fascinating subject.”

The royal commentator’s reaction rendered Lemon speechless, prompting him to end the conversation.

Lemon stated, “It’s a fascinating subject.” “Many thanks, I truly appreciate it. The discussion will continue in the future.’

Britain was the first nation in the world to permanently abolish slavery.

With the passage of the Slavery Abolition Act in 1833, the United Kingdom became the first nation to outlaw the slave trade.

As demand increased, African leaders participated in the trade of their own people to European nations.

Since the tribal battles, the Portuguese would purchase Africans who had been kept captive as slaves. According to Britannica, Africans would also take slaves to the coast in order to sell them to Europeans.

According to her Women’s Media Center profile, Fordwich is a global business strategist and a regular media participant. Since the queen’s demise on September 8, she has routinely remarked on all things royal.

Fordwich is a “national Royal Watcher” for networks such as CBS, CNN, and Sunday Morning. Since William and Kate’s nuptials, she has covered every subsequent royal wedding.

The interview with the royal commentator took place days after CNN’s announcement that Lemon would be leaving his primetime nighttime show for a morning position with Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins.

Some on Twitter claimed that Lemon’s lack of response to Fordwich was due to CNN’s ‘new policy’ to not attack conservatives and offer ‘fair news’ in the wake of the recent layoffs of renowned leftist writers at the media organization.

Thursday was the first time Lemon addressed CNN’s latest shakeup, and he referred to it as a promotion. After his colleagues were fired for being unduly critical of Donald Trump and the GOP, he asserted that the network was not pressuring him to shift his left-leaning views.

This is not someone telling Don Lemon that he must shift to the right and refrain from providing so much of his views. Nothing of the sort has occurred, stated Lemon. All of that is Twitter fodder.

There was no demotion. None of the above. This presents a possibility. This is an advertisement.

In addition to Lemon, Kaitlan Collins (left) and Poppy Harlow (right) will appear on the new morning show.

CNN’s CEO Chris Licht (above) described the trio as ‘compelling and dependable’ Licht is directing the purge of journalists who have been excessively critical of the GOP.

Lemon’s new production with Harlow and Collins will replace John Berman and Brianna Keilar’s 6-to-9 a.m. ‘New Day’ program.

This is one of CNN’s new CEO Chris Licht’s most significant choices as he attempts to cleanse the network of ‘opinion-based politicized reporting’ and anchors who criticize conservatives and the GOP.

Since Licht’s promise to restore CNN’s credibility with the public by ceasing the defamation of Republicans, CNN has been ridding itself of its status as a progressive news source.

The new movement has led to the termination of popular CNN hosts, including John Harwood and Brian Stelter, as well as their respective programs.

Licht has previously forewarned CNN employees of impending changes they would ‘not understand’ or ‘like.’
