In a recent Netflix interview, “The Crown” actor Dominic West said that he resembles King Charles III only “from behind.” The video, titled “How Dominic West Became Prince Charles,” features West discussing his season 5 role. West will portray the then-Prince in the upcoming season of the Netflix series. In seasons 3 and 4, Josh O’Connor previously portrayed Prince Charles.
“I was slightly despondent, you know, how was I going to achieve the physicality of this guy?” the actor stated in the Netflix film, “since the only time I truly resemble Charles is from behind, where the hair is just right.”
West revealed to Entertainment Weekly in October 2022 that he almost turned down the part owing to their dissimilar appearances. “I responded, ‘You’ve got the wrong guy,’ since I don’t resemble him in any way,” West remembered to EW.
In the same interview, he acknowledged that O’Connor had left some rather large shoes to fill. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he stated, “I was acutely aware of Josh’s incredible performance and success, and I felt it would be difficult to follow in his footsteps.”
West discussed his views about King Charles III and that time period in an interview with Netflix. He stated, “I have such profound sorrow for Charles because he doesn’t receive much gratitude, especially when he’s standing next to Diana.”
Season 5 of “The Crown” will focus heavily on Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s turbulent marriage and divorce.
In a Thursday-released video, actress Elizabeth Debicki discussed her metamorphosis into Princess Diana with Netflix.
“One of the topics that we explore a lot is her isolation as a result of the dissolution of her marriage and how she becomes more distant from the rest of the royal family,” the actress told Netflix.
West concentrated on Prince Charles’ gloomy state of mind as he struggled with his failing marriage to Princess Diana. “His status prevents him from ever being with the lady he adores. Despite his flaws, this is a terrible burden “actor stated.
Season 5 of “The Crown” begins on November 9 on Netflix.
