Dmitro Mikalshevskiy leaves New Zealand for Australia as costs rise under Ardern

Under Jacinda Ardern’s administration, the cost of living situation in New Zealand has become so severe that Kiwis are fleeing to Australia to save money.'When we were living in Auckland we had everything we wanted, the house, the beautiful cars and the great friends but it got to a point where we were living right up to the edge of our means,' Mr Mikalshevskiy told Discovery NZ

Dmitro Mikalshevskiy left New Zealand for Australia in November 2021, claiming that he and his spouse are now $2,000 per month better off. Mr. Mikalshevskiy told Discovery New Zealand that he opted to come to Melbourne because he was unable to purchase beers with his friends in Auckland without working additional hours.

Mr Mikalshevskiy said it is things like paying $1 a litre less for petrol and cheaper milk and groceries which make living in Australian cheaper than New ZealandDavid Farrar, a leading political pollster who works as a consultant for New Zealand's National Party, told Daily Mail Australia he believes it's 'more likely than not' Ms Ardern will be voted out at the next federal election as a result of the country's cost of living crisis
Mr. Mikalshevskiy stated, “When we lived in Auckland, we had everything we desired, the house, the gorgeous automobiles, and fantastic friends, but we were living at the absolute limit of our means.”

“In Australia, gasoline costs are reduced by $1 per litre.”

We can set aside $2,000 per month for savings.

Mr. Mikalshevskiy stated that there is no way he could have saved so much in Auckland, therefore he and his partner chose to move to Melbourne.

He stated that he is so pleased with his relocation to Australia that he has made an offer on a Southbank apartment.

Mr. Mikalshevskiy stated that in Melbourne there is more employment, higher pay, and the cost of living is lower than in New Zealand. As a result of a crisis in the cost of living, inflation in New Zealand has surged to an all-time high of 7.3%.

David Farrar, a prominent political pollster and consultant for New Zealand’s National Party, told Daily Mail Australia that he feels it is’more probable than not’ that Ms. Ardern would be thrown out of office in the upcoming federal election due to the increase in the cost of living.

In recent months, the National Party has led in the majority of polls. It will be extremely close, but I believe a change in government is more likely than not,’ he stated. Mr. Farrar stated that there were ‘warning indications’ that Ms. Ardern’s government disregarded, opting instead to spend lavishly and borrow from the reserve bank, which has damaged the nation’s economy.

Mr. Farrar remarked, “This is the most pressing issue for New Zealanders at the moment.”

‘Women voters gave Labor and her a tremendous advantage in the polls, but the expense of living is a considerably more significant concern for female voters than for male voters.

‘Twice as many women as men consider the cost of living to be the most pressing problem. This is where she is failing.’
