Pitso Mosimane has sent an apology to Al Ahli Saudi fans following Thursday night’s 4-1 loss to Al Akhdoud at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.
Mosimane and his team entered the game in second place on the standings, three points behind their opponents, who recovered from behind to take first place.
Since then, the South African-born coach has resorted to social media to vent his displeasure, stating that the scoreline was unacceptable in front of their home fans.
He remarked on Twitter, “We were humiliated tonight, unacceptable scoreline, especially in front of our fans.”

Mosimane’s unbeaten streak of 13 matches in Saudi Arabia’s first flight came to an end, as his team dropped to third place on the standings with 37 points, tied with Al Akhdoud, Al Hazm, and Al-Faisaly, respectively.
Mosimane and his squad are still in prime position to fight for the league title and earn promotion to the Saudi Pro League despite the defeat.
The Royal will be seeking redemption when they host seventh-placed Al Kholood on Tuesday at Al Hazm Club Stadium.
