Despite Sturgeon’s gender self-ID push, Scotland’s police call transgender butcher, ‘a man’

Police have revealed that the transgender butcher accused of killing an 11-year-old child in Scotland is a male, which is contrary to Nicola Sturgeon’s push for gender identification.

Following the discovery of the adolescent safe at a residence in Galashiels on Monday night, Police Scotland said this morning that 53-year-old Andrew George Miller had now been charged.

Although the suspect now goes by the name Amy George, she has two Facebook accounts and posts using both male and female aliases.

J.K. Rowling’s Strike series included Miller’s now-defunct butcher shop, Millers of Melrose, and at one time the tunnel was visible in the storefront.

Miller’s police identification as a male is at contrast with the Scottish First Minister’s campaign for gender self-identification.

Because of concerns that her Gender Recognition Act may make it easier for predatory males to pass for women, Ms. Sturgeon has been the target of persistent pressure.

In the aftermath of the Isla Bryson controversy, in which a rapist who raped two women self-identified as a woman in an apparent effort to get a lighter sentence, she has been under fire from all sides.

Miller has not been charged by police with any specific offenses, as is typical under Scottish law.

Miller, who posted online in January of this year under the male identity, seemed to be highly interested in Sturgeon’s new legislation. He wrote: “Silly billies in Westminster – Never meddle with Scottish Transgender Issues.”

Police Scotland defy Sturgeon's gender self-ID drive by calling transgender butcher suspect a man

In the community of Gattonside, Miller’s house has been visited by a group of forensic investigators.

The distance from the last location the main student was seen before going missing is three miles.

A neighbor reported seeing a guy being loaded into the police car’s rear seat.

It’s a really rich and peaceful neighborhood, so everything has come as a bit of a shock. The owner of the residence once oversaw the Melrose butcher business.

They are well known in the neighborhood and go by a woman’s name now, although they used to go by Andrew.

The 53-year-old suspect who was detained in connection with the disappearance was depicted as a guy in yesterday’s police press.

A 53-year-old male has been detained in connection with the disappearance of an 11-year-old Galashiels girl who was reported missing on February 5 on Sunday, according to a statement from the police.

On Monday, February 6, at about 9.30 p.m., the girl was located at a property in the Galashiels neighborhood. Investigations into the events are still underway.

While a helicopter searched the area, volunteers from the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and the Borders Search and Rescue Unit joined police who had been hunting for her.

The public was advised to examine their outbuildings and sheds for any evidence of the missing child while specialized water search teams combed the River Tweed in quest of leads. Chief Superintendent Catriona Paton, the area commander, made a request for information at a news conference on Monday in front of the Galashiels police station.

At about 10.30 p.m. on Monday, police made a public announcement thanking everyone for their search efforts and stating that the girl had been found “well and healthy.”
