Des Champs the self-proclaimed ‘Pro-life Spiderman’ for scaling the second skyscraper

The self-proclaimed ‘Pro-life Spiderman’ was detained for the second time Tuesday after scaling a skyscraper in protest against abortion.

The Oklahoma City Police Department apprehended Maison Des Champs Tuesday at the top of Devon Tower, an 844-foot-tall skyscraper in the city’s downtown area.

Earlier in the day, police advised residents to avoid the area, blocking streets as a precaution while the 22-year-old scaled the huge skyscraper.

Des Champs posted footage of his ascent to his Instagram story, @prolife.spiderman, and invited his followers to give to the pro-life organization letthemlive.org.

He shared messages from the group, with whom he claimed to be collaborating in his journey, to gather funds for Riley, a mother.

‘Maison Des Champs will be scaling a tower in support of Let Them live Mom, Riley, and her 10 week pre-born baby,’ the post said.

The organization’s website says that donations go to support ‘abortion-minded women so that they choose life.’

Des Champs moved the camera over the street below him in his Instagram post, saying that people were gathering but that there was ‘no helicopter yet.’

Des Champs reached the top of the 50-story structure, where officials awaited him.

He also scaled the Salesforce Tower, California’s highest building, last month in protest against abortion. His arrest was also the outcome of a similar stunt.

This rise came just one day after a leaked draft of a Supreme Court judgment revealed that the court’s conservative majority plans to overturn the famous Roe v Wade decision, which gives federal abortion rights.

Despite the occasion, Des Champs stated that the ascent was not motivated by the Roe v Wade draft decision.

He ascended the 721-foot-tall New York Times skyscraper in New York City a few days later. On his way up, he hunts for two anti-abortion banners on the building. It’s unknown whether he was detained as a result of this stunt.
