A customer on a Delta trip from Orlando to New York City alleged that a flight attendant called his wife’s face “stupid” when the couple attempted to use a first-class overhead bin.
Thomas Todd complained on Twitter about the event that occurred on Flight 1260 on November 7, stating that he and his wife were removed from the aircraft before to takeoff for LaGuardia.
“This out-of-control flight attendant verbally assaulted, threatened, and erroneously removed us from our flight in November,” he wrote in a popular January 30 post.
According to reports, the couple placed their belongings in the first-class bins because those in their section were full.
After the alleged encounter, Todd uploaded a video he filmed of the flight attendant.
“I have video of you saying my wife has a stupid face,” Todd can be heard saying.
The crewmember responds, “I do not care.” “If you do that, I will turn the plane around and get you off… Please don’t push my buttons.”
The flight attendant continues, “You are being impolite. Since the moment in the rear, impolite.”
Todd told View from the Wing that a flight attendant informed him he “might learn something” by watching her safety video was about to begin.
“I indicated that I was, in fact, watching the television to my left,” he added.
“She then looks at Jen and tells her, ‘Don’t look at me with that idiotic expression,’” “Jen looks at her and asks what she just said, at which point the woman replies that she is from the Bronx and you don’t want her,” Todd told the site.
“Jen was doing nothing but smiling. At this time, I began filming her. … “[She] informed us that we would be removed from the aircraft and that I was not permitted to record her,” he added.
Todd reported that they ultimately returned to the gate, where many others pulled them from the flight because a crew member felt “unsafe.”
He stated on Twitter that Delta ordered him to erase his posts “so they could take care of us,” but he has been waiting for compensation since November.
“We did all they asked, but all they said in response was ‘thank you for your patience’ while they dragged their feet. It is time for @Delta to do the right thing!” He composed.
According to View From the Wing, the pair was rebooked onto a different flight and upgraded to first class.
“We apologize for the delay in travel for all customers on flight 1260 from Orlando to LaGuardia on November 7, 2022, after the flight crew decided to deplane some passengers shortly after departure,” a Delta representative informed the site.
“Those customers were rebooked on another Delta flight, and we’ve reached out to this party with additional apologies and compensation,” the representative continued.
There was no online video of the crew member allegedly criticizing Jen Todd.
A number of Twitter users supported the flight attendant’s assertion that Todd was hiding something.
One user writes, “I bet you anything there’s more to the story leading up to their boarding and complaining about no overhead bins.”
“I bet you they knew exactly what they were doing, and they filmed it at the precise moment they knew they would receive a response from the flight attendant,” a second individual added.
Another passenger advised, “Do not place your luggage in first class if you are not paying for first class.”
Delta did not immediately answer to The Post’s request for comment.
