Based on the 2010-2016 manga series of the same name by Haro Aso, this Japanese-language sci-fi thriller drama series will return to Netflix in 2020. The anime follows 24-year-old gamer Ryhei Arisu (Yamazaki) and youthful mountain climber Yuzuha Usagi (Tsuchiya), who, in their grief, decide to team up as they are compelled to participate in risky games that result in either an extension of one’s gaming “visa” or execution by laser (talk about high stakes).
In Season 2 of Alice in Borderland, the games are considerably more lethal, and the world in which they struggle to survive is crueler than ever. Will Arisu and his fellow contestants ever be able to escape the deserted version of Tokyo in which they are stuck, and after all that has been lost, is returning home really worthwhile?
