David Haye, a former world champion boxer, stands in court to deny assaulting another man during a performance.

David Haye, a former world champion boxer, appeared in court this morning on charges of assaulting a man at a London concert.

Last October 30, the heavyweight fighter is accused of assaulting Nickesh Jhala at the Hammersmith Apollo in west London.

The 41-year-old denied one count of assault by beating at Westminster Magistrates Court this morning.

His wrists were cuffed behind his back as he entered the pier, wearing an orange and brown check hooded jacket and dark pants.

Behind a protective screen, Haye was flanked by a member of court security who spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, and to enter his not guilty plea.

Haye’s girlfriend, model Sian Osborne, 29, was apparently present at the time of the alleged incident, according to the court.

Despite the fact that there was no proof of any threats made against Haye, District Judge Annabel Pilling refused to disclose his address in open court because he is well-known but does not post about where he lives on social media.

When non-famous defendants first enter the dock, they must read their whole address to the court.

During the one-day trial later this year, the alleged victim, the police officer investigating the case, and three other witnesses are expected to testify.

Haye was granted unconditional bail and is scheduled to stand trial in September at Westminster Magistrates Court.
